Caractérisation de l´évolution de la consanguinité dans la population des Doukkala (Maroc)

    In spite of researches that confirm the inbreeding implication in problems of health, some populations still perpetuate this behaviour. The aim of the present survey is to study the situation and the evolution of this practice in the population of Doukkala which is a part of the southern Morocco. Results show that the percentage of inbreeding increased from 22.14% at the paternal grandparents� generation and 21.09% at the maternal grandparents� generation, to 26.03% at the parents� generation. Unions between first cousins decreased from 45% at the paternal grandparents� generation and 41% at the maternal grandparents� generation to 24% at the studied couple generation.

    En dépit des recherches qui confirment l¿implication de la consanguinité dans les problèmes de santé, certains pays perpétuent encore ce comportement. Le but de la présente étude est d¿étudier la situation ainsi que l´évolution de cette pratique dans la population des Doukkala qui fait partie du Maroc méridional. Les résultats montrent que le pourcentage de consanguinité a augmenté de 22,14% chez la génération des grands-parents paternels et 21,09% chez les grands-parents maternels à 26,03% chez le couple des parents. Les unions entre cousins germains ont diminué de 45% chez la génération des grands-parents paternels et de 41% chez les grands-parents maternels à 24% chez la génération du couple étudié.
