Offshore, the bathymetry of the Gibraltar Straits, situated in the westernmost Mediterranean, is characterized by an area of topographic highs which link the Spanish and Marrocan platforms, the socalled Gibraltar Threshold ("Umbral"). A detailed study of its bathymetric map and morphology permits to characterize three zones according to the scarps and crest distribution, together with their orientation and profile. These zones are separated by two morphologic traces, together with their orientation and profile.
