LA RELACIÓN CENTRO /PERIFERIA A TRAVÉS DEL MEDIO URBANO Y DE LA NOCIÓN DE ACCESO, LAS DIFERENTES POSICIONES DEL BARRIO DE ALCANTARA EN LISBOA. ¿Es Alcantara, barrio industrial histórico del oeste de Lisboa, un espacio periférico o central a escala de la ciudad? ¿No puede definirse su posición según otras lógicas, otros modelos, otras representaciones? A partir de la puesta en relación entre una lectura geohistórica de la localización relativa de dicho espacio urbano, y un análisis de los discursos y proyectos de los actores institucionales de la producción de la ciudad y recurriendo también a una mirada sobre los habitantes, su modo de vida y su percepción de la localización geográfica de su barrio, este artículo enfoca la dimensión relativa del carácter central o periférico de semejante espacio intraurbano así como la progresiva evolución de la noción de acceso en la calificación de su posición geográfica.

THE COUPLE CENTRE-OUTSKIRTS, TO THE TEST OF THE URBAN MILIEU AND OF THE NOTION OF ACCESS. THE VARIOUS POSITIONS OF THE ALCANTARA DISTRICT IN LISBON Is Alcantara, a historic industrial district to the west of Lisbon, an outskirts area or a central one to the scale of the town? May its location be not defined according to other logics, models or representations? Crossing a geo-historic reading of the relative location of this urban space, an time-old analysis of the discourses and projects of the institutional actors in charge o[ town planning" and last a look at the way the inhabitants themselves live and speak of the geographic location of their district, the paper enlightens the relative dimension of the central or peripheral aspect of such an in-town space, as well as the progressive slide to the notion of access in the qualification of its geographical location.

Alcântara, quartier industriel historique de l'ouest de Lisbonne, est-il un espace périphérique ou central a l'échelle de la ville? Sa position ne peut-elle pas être définie selon d'autres logiques, modèles ou représentations? A partir du croisement d'une lecture géohistorique de la localisation relative de cet espace urbain, d'une analyse sur le temps long des discours et projets des acteurs institutionnels de la production de la ville, et enfin d'un regard porté sur les manières dont les habitants eux-mêmes vivent et disent la localisation géographique de leur quartier, cet article éclaire la dimension relative du caractère central ou périphérique d'un tel espace intra-urbain tout comme le glissement progressif vers la notion d'accès dans la qualification de sa position géographique.
