La expulsión de los moriscos, aprobada en abril de 1609, constituyó la decisión más importante de la política interior del reinado de Felipe III. Numerosos autores escribieron sobre el tema y la mayoría apoyaron la medida al considerarla santa, justa e irremediable, como San Simón de Rojas, trinitario, maestro de los infantes y confesor de la reina Isabel del Borbón, quién envió un memorial a los reyes donde recogía los inconvenientes y desventajas del decreto, mostrándose favorable a su salida de España.

The expulsion of the spanish moriscos, carried out in April 1609, was regarded as king Philip III¿s most important decision as far as domestic affairs were concerned. Lots of authors wrote about this topic and most of them agreed to this resolution, since they thought it was fair, holy and unavoidable. Saint Simón de Rojas, a ¿Trinitarian friar¿, teacher of the princess and confessor to the queen Isabel de Borbón, sent a memorial to the king and queen where he specified the disadvantages of the decree, showing his agreeement to the final resolution.
