Partimos de las preguntas sobre qué debemos entender por cruzada y cuáles son sus elementos constitutivos. A continuación, presentamos dichos elementos: proclamación papal de la guerra santa en nombre de Cristo; centralidad del objetivo cruzado de Jerusalén; implicaciones escatológicas; peregrinaje; formalización del voto cruzado; indulgencias- y los problemas que han venido planteando a la historiografía.

The first thing to be considerer is what do we understand by crusade, and which are its main characteristics. Later, we�ll deal with them: the Pope�s proclamation of the Holy War in Christ�s name; the City of Jerusalem as the main goal; the eschatologic implications; Pilgrimage; the vows commitment; Indulgences-, and the problems that the have caused to historiography.
