Confronto aquí al multiculturalismo normativo de orientación comunitarista oponiéndole un concepto de libertad inextricablemente ligado al de justicia. En la medida en que la justicia aparece como la preocupación fundamental de los multiculturalistas, y en tanto que dan primacía a la protección de las culturas como el medio para lograr aquella justicia, intento mostrar la inadecuación lógica y práctica de su planteamiento a partir de la noción liberal del individuo ciudadano como el agente moral y político fundamental y relevante.

The aim of this paper is to confront critically the so-named multiculturalism of communitarian tendency, opposing to it a concept of freedom inextricably linked to that of justice. To the extent that the latter appears as the key concern of their advocators, and as far as they give primacy to the protection of cultures as the chief mean for its achievement, I try so to show the logical and practical inadequacy of their formulation parting from the liberal point of view on the citizen and the individual as the prominent and main moral and political agent.
