This article is based on the texts about the concept of "history" within the project "Iberconceptos". It presents a comparative study of this concept in nine countries of the Iberian Atlantic world between 1750 and 1850. Based on the theoretical approach of Reinhart Kosselleck, we examine if in this region "history" was experienced as "modern". This new experience is distinguished by disarticulating and reconfiguring the c1assical relations of temporality. Essentially, the answer to our hypothesis is positive, albeit there are overlapping and far from uniform developments in the different examined countries, especially comparing the former European imperial centers with the new American nations.
