This group of texts forms a set, unhappily incomplete, dealingvvith a subject of the greatest interest to the ancient historian � t he military preparations against an expected attack from the sea on the territory of Pylos,, an attack which was successful if we may judge from the fact that these tablets were preserved by baking in the fire which finally consumed the «Palace of Nestor».
