Ordering of remaining lifetimes in renewal process

  • New better than used aging classes are commonly used in reliability theory. Several results have been given where the stochastic monotonicity of the remaining lifetime at time t of a renewal process is related to some kind of new better than used interarrival times. In this paper, we add a new result when the stochastic comparisons are given in terms of the Laplace transform. Also we show that if the interarrival times belong to some new better than used aging class, then the remaining lifetime at time t can be compared with the remaining at time 0. Also we provide a preservation result of NBULt aging classes for series systems.
