Después del estallido de la peor crisis de la postguerra, la salida a la recesión económica y la consolidación de un nuevo sistema financiero, determinan y confluyen en la gestación del proceso de reestructuración que comienza a perfilarse en el sector financiero español. La comunidad internacional ha apostado por una nueva configuración financiera a través de una nueva regulación y mayores exigencias de capital y transparencia para las entidades bancarias. Aunque el sistema financiero español ha resistido bien las primeras consecuencias de la crisis, es previsible que durante 2010 se desarrolle un proceso de reestructuración profunda como consecuencia del agravamiento del escenario económico para los agentes financieros.

In the wake of the worst crisis of the post-war period, emergence from economic recession and the consolidation of a new financial system come together in determinant fashion in the nurturing of a process of restructuring that is beginning to be observed in the Spanish financial sector. The international community have gone for a new financial configuration through a new system of regulation and greater demands in terms of capital and transparency on the part of banks. Although the Spanish financial system has stood up well to the initial consequences of the crisis, in 2010 it may be expected to undergo a far-reaching restructuring process as a result of the worsening economic scenario for financial agents.
