    en este artículo se busca presentar la fundación del Centro nacional de bellas artes (1919) y el Círculo de bellas artes (1920), a partir de fuentes hemerográ-ficas. también se ubica ambas organizaciones frente a las discusiones sobre la reforma a la escuela de bellas artes y el contexto social y político entre 1919 y 1924. Como consecuencia de lo anterior, se demuestra el nexo existente entre el Centro, la revista Universidad (en su primera época 1921-1922), la Federación nacional de estudiantes y el movimiento estudiantil.

    Based on printed sources, this article presents two institutions in relation to the school of Fine arts: the national Center of Fine arts in bogotá (1919) and the Circle of Fine arts (1912). the topics that arise between 1919 and 1924 deal with academic reform and considerations around social and political contexts. the periodical, Universidad, documents how the student movement, represented in the national Federation of students, got involved in these issues.
