Resumen de Incremento de la competitividad regional mediante la articulación productiva empresarial.

  • The present investigation aims to determine the main factors that most influence in the low competitiveness of the textile industry in the bajío region-south between the states of Michoacán and Guanajuato, which is composed of 8 municipalities, which have significant textile industry and its economy that have affected their participation in the local, regional and national levels, due to introduction of chinese textile products to the country; analysis approaching the theoretical concepts of regional development, local endogenous development and competitiveness.

    It investigated the most significant independent variables that influence the competitiveness, which were considered and analyzed several studies and national and international indices that measure this variable in order to develop a model for the measurement of competitiveness at the regional level, starting the identification of the production profile, defined as the local productive system or cluster.

    It surveyed 54 companies in the textile industry, as well as 392 citizens during 2007, also analyzed statistical information from official sources, to create indices that included the explanatory variables of regional competitiveness. This information was processed in different computer programs, applying statistical techniques such as frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, linear regression and hypothesis testing to identify the main variables that influence the low competitiveness of the textile industry.
