Resumen de El filtro académico español: aplicación a la recuperación documental sobre medicina del trabajo a través de PubMed

  OBJETIVOS: Elaborar un filtro académico español (ecuación de búsqueda) que permita recuperar la producción científica académica/universitaria de forma pertinente. Como objetivo secundario, describir la producción sobre Medicina del Trabajo, hasta el año 2007, indizada en MEDLlNE. MÉTODOS: Construcción de un filtro académico para España y la unión booleana al filtro temático sobre Medicina del Trabajo previamente desarrollado: "filtro académico AND filtro temático". Las distintas instituciones académicas se asociaron mediante el conector OR.

  El filtro temático se cimentó mediante la utilización de Descriptores, como Major Topies.

  RESULTADOS: La aplicación de la ecuación booleana desarrollada ofreció en MEDLlNE 312 referencias, un 0,22% de todas las referencias sobre Medicina del Trabajo indizadas en esta base hasta la fecha de la consulta, y el 33,37% de la producción científica española en esta área de conocimiento. Esta ecuación de búsqueda demostró una sensibilidad del 99,33% y una especificidad del 97,60%. CONCLUSIONES: Se ofrece un filtro institucional, con alta sensibilidad y especificidad, para recuperar la producción científica académica española en MEDLlNE, a través de PubMed, aplicable a las distintas áreas del conocimiento de las ciencias de la salud. Sería conveniente que cada institución académica española estableciera "su nombre/marca normalizado" con el fin de poder recuperar de forma eficiente su producción científica.

  OBJECTIVE: To construct a Spanish academic filter (equation search) that allows recovering the Academic/University scientific production in a pertinent form. As a secondary objective, to describe the production about Occupational Medicine indexed in MEDLlNE until 2007.

  METHODS: The construction of the Spanish academic filter that will be made united by means of the Boolean operator linked to the thematic filter of Occupational Medicine previously developed: "academic filter AND thematic filter". The different academic institutions were associated with the "OR" connector. The thematic filter was elaborated using the Descriptors as Major Topics. RESULTS: The application of the developed Boolean equation collected in MEDLlNE 312 references, a 0.22% of all the references related to Occupational Medicine indexed in this database until the date of the consultation, and the 33.37% of the Spanish scientific production in this area of knowledge. This search equation demonstrated a sensitivity of 99.33% and a specificity of 97.60%. CONCLUSIONS: An institutional filter with high sensitivity and specificity is offered in order to recover the Spanish academic scientific production in MEDLlNE through PubMed and that can be applied to the different knowledge areas in from health sciences.

  lt would be advisable that each Spanish academic institution establishes "its own standardized name/marks" with the purpose of recovering its scientific production with efficiency.
