El patrimonio "intangible": infografía para preservar la memoria del pasado

    En un momento en el que el mundo de la conservación del Patrimonio Cultural tiende a expandirse, englobando bienes culturales que antes era impensable proteger, ha llegado la hora de replantearse también el modo en que se documenta, se difunde y se tutela dicho patrimonio. Ahora son intangibles, pero susceptibles de ser protegidos, la cultura oral, las rutas culturales, las tradiciones locales, los ritos ancestrales, etc. aparentemente más difíciiles de preservar por su carácter inmaterial.

    La arquitectura y la arqueología, sin embargo, se consideran "aceptablemente" protegidas mediante planes y estrategias diversos que en mayor o menor medida mantienen los bienes inmuebles "conservados". Pero sabemos que esta es una realidad compleja ya que los edificios restaurados y rehabilitados sufren alteraciones para adaptarlos a los nuevos usos. Y los restos arqueológicos, por su parte, salen a la luz para devolvernos en parte la herencia del pasado a cambio de exponerse a la atmósfera y recomenzar su lento declive, del que el enterramiento había supuesto una pausa, hacia su desaparición final. En este camino se pierde parte del legado que llega hasta nosotros y, sin duda, los restos materiales son fundamentales, pero la información que aportan sobre las culturas del pasado lo son aún más. Esa información, es la que no puede perderse de ningún modo y es la que debe llegar al público para que éste conozca y valore sus propios orígenes. Por tanto, es esencial recoger esa documentación y convertirla en datos comprensibles, en “objetos digitales comunicativos” fácilmente accesibles para el nuevo espectador del siglo XXI.

    En la era digital, la infografía por fin permitirá conservar la información de los bienes culturales para el futuro, acercándolos además al público. Cuando el tiempo no permita ya reconocer la arquitectura, quedarán sus reflejos virtuales. En este artículo se expondrán los valores de la infografía digital, sus aplicaciones y la deontología necesaria para hacer de ellos una herramienta científica.

    In a moment in which the world of the Culture Heritage tends to expand to other categories of cultural goods unthinkable to protect in the past, it is the time to reconsider the way in which this heritage is documented, divulged and protected. Nowadays are intangibles, but susceptible of this protection the oral culture, the cultural routes, the local traditions, the ancestral rites, etc., apparently more difficult to preserve due to their immaterial character.

    The architecture and the archaeology, however, are considered “acceptably” protected thorough different plains and strategies that, as far as possible, keep the cultural heritage “preserved”. But, as we know, the conservation is a complex reality, as the restored and conservated buildings, for example, must be addapted to the new utilities. The archaeological remains appeared to return to us the cultural heritage, with the adjustment to the atmosphere and its progressive decline. In this context we lose fundamental parts of them and the information about the culture and the past. This information cannot be lost, as it must be saved and make it understandable to the public and to the scientists to know our origins.

    The most important thing is to collect this documentation and to turn it into a comprehensible document, in “communicative digital objects”, reachable to the new spectator of the twenty-first century.

    At the digital age, the computer graphics will allow at last to preserve the information of the cultural heritage to the future and to make it reachable to the public. When the time does not allow us to recognize the architecture, their virtual digital reflects will remain. In this article we will expound the digital computer graphic’s values and the ethic codes to turn them into a scientific tool.
