    Les limirwa de la carte: la nature de l'infographie. - Penser les cartes géographiques aujourd'hui entraîne de prendre en compte le vide laissé par la pensée cartographique sur les représentations cartographiques et digitales (Sig, systèmes de visualisation géographique) et focaliser l'attention sur les textes qui s'y référent. Tel vide peut être rempli par ce qu'on appelle l'infographie. L'image infographique est une synthèse des textes cartographiques traditionnels et des nouvelles formes de la représentation digitale. Le but de ce texte c'est d'expliquer comment travaille l'infographie, en montrant la rélation entre ce qui traditionnellement on appelle "carte", et le mécanisme en-dessous de la construction des textes infographiques

    The limits of the map: about the nature of infographics. - Thinking about maps today has to take into account the blank left by theoretical thought on cartographical and digital representation (Gis, Gvis) and focus the attention on texts staying in between. This blank can be filled by what is defined infographics. The infographical image is a synthesis of traditional cartographical texts and new forms of digital representaiton. The goal of this paper is to explain how infographisics works by showing the relation between what is traditionally defined as a "map" and the mechanism underlying the construction of infographical texts.
