Nuestra geografía emocional es compleja y resulta casi imposible imaginar una vida sin emociones ni sentimientos, sin motivaciones ni pasiones y sin deseos e ilusiones, porque son los que impregnan toda nuestra actividad psicológica. El propósito del presente artículo es detenernos a escuchar algunos de los latidos de la afectividad y contemplarla como en un caleidoscopio, observando cómo unas emociones nos fortalecen, abriendo una vía para una vida más dichosa, y otras nos ayudan a reintegrar y resistir los embates de la vida, dada su función adaptativa. De forma panorámica, se presenta la particular visión de un grupo de estudiantes de Magisterio, acerca del optimismo en la educación. Finalmente, se señala la necesaria educación socioafectiva.

Our emotional geography is complex and it is almost impossible to imagine our lives without emotions or feelings, without motivations or passions and without wishes or hopes because they are all imbued with our psychological activity. The purpose of this article is to try and listen to some of the hearbeats of affectivity and look at it as if it were a kaleidoscope, seeing how some emotions strenghten us �opening a way towards a happier life�, and how some others help us resist and go over difficult situations in our lives, given their adaptive function. An ovierview of the opinions of a group of initial teacher training students on optimism in education is also offered. Finally, the need for socioaffective education is highlighted.
