    El artículo analiza la aparición del Próximo Oriente de la Antigüedad en la obra de Edgar Poe (1809-1849), especialmente en 12 de sus escritos. Con ello se extraen conclusiones acerca de las funciones del Antiguo Próximo Oriente en Poe y también acerca de la recepción en la Norteamérica de la primera mitad del siglo XIX de noticias sobre exploraciones e investigaciones en aquellas tierras

    The article analyzes the appearance of the Ancient Near East in the works of Edgar Poe (1809-1849), especially in 12 of his writings. Some conclusions are reached on the purposes of the Ancient Near East in Poe and on the reception in the North America of the 1st half of the 19th century of news about exploration and research in those lands.
