Resumen de A. Macintyre: individualisme, comunitarisme i valors occidentals

Un deis aspectes més importants del comunitarisme és la crítica de la visió liberal del jo i de l'ética i la política, és a dir, la crítica d'una visió individualista de l'ésser humà. Tot i que el pensament de Maclntyre s'ha estudiat des de molts punts de vista, no s'ha fet cap rccerca sobre la seva alternativa i crítica global a l'individualisme. Aquest és el motiu pel qual aquest article estudia i analitza l'alternativa de Maclntyre. Les preguntes que hem de respondre són dues: (1) en quins conceptes basa la seva alternativa a l'individualisme Maclntyre? i (2) aquesta alternativa supera l'individualisme? Hem dividit l'article en quatre apartats: en el primer definim el concepte d'individualisme; en el segon, analitzem el concepte de Maclntyre de persona narrativa, juntament amb els conceptes de progrés i comunitat; en el tercer veurem el concepte de tradició (racionalitat narrativa); i finalment dediquem un quart apartat a les conclusions.

One of the most important aspects of communitarianism is the criticism of the liberal self-view and of the ethics and politics, that is, the criticism of an individualist view of the human being. Although the MacIntyre's thinking has been studied from many points of view, no research has been made on his alternative and global criticism to individualism. This is the reason for which this article studies and analyses Maclntyre's alternative. Thereforee, we have to answer two questions: (1) on which concepts does Maclntyre base his alternative to individualism? and (2) does this alternative surpass individualism? We have divided this article into four sections: In the first we define the concept of individualism; in the sccond, we analyse MacIntyre's concept of narrative person, together with the concepts of progress and community, in the third we will see the concept of tradition (narrative rationality); and finally we dedicate a fourth section to the conclusions.
