Resumen de "Venim del nord, venim del sud". Els contactes entre UDPV i UDC (1965-1978)

Without doubt Democratic Union of the Country of Valencia (UDPV) is one of the most singular and, at the same time, interesting experiences to have occurred in the most reccnt political history of the País Valencia (Valencian Community). Not only because it is a nationalist party but also because of to this party's alliance with an alternative Christian Democrat political proposal to the left. Although we know the final outcome of the party, it is also true that, even today, very little is known about many aspects of the party's existence, particularly in the early years. In this respect, the intensive research work that has been done over the last few years has brought to light a significant number of previously unpublished sources. This has not only allowed us to discover a little more about its history but also to realise its importance in creating and establishing the new movement known as "Valencianisme". It has also allowed us to confirm or refute some of the most widely used clichés of Valencian historiography with regard to UDPV. One of these is the theme of the present work, namely the possible relationship between UDPV and its Catalan peer, UDC.

La Unió Democrática del País Valencia és sense cap mena de dubtes una de les experiències més singulars, a l'hora que interessants, que ha produït la história política més recent del País Valencia. No sois pel fet de ser un partit de caire nacionalista, sinó per la combinació d'aquest amb una proposta política demócrata cristiana i alternativa a l'esquerra. Tot i conèixer el resultat final del mateix, el ben cert és que encara avui sabem molt poc dels distints aspectes que envoltaren la seua existencia, sobretot en els seus primers anys. En eixe sentit, els intensos treballs de recerca duts a terme aquests últims anys ens han permes traure a la llum un nombre important de fonts inèdites. Les quals, no sois han servit per conèixer una mica millor la seua história, sinó la importancia que va tenir aquest en el procés de creació i consolidació del nou valencianisme. A més, permeteren verificar o bé desmentir alguns deis tópics més utilitzats per la historiografia valenciana a l'hora de parlar sobre UDPV. Un d'aquests, será el tema que tractem en aquest treball, la possible relació que va existir entre la UDPV i el seu homòleg català, UDC.
