Este informe hace un balance del crecimiento de los evangélicos en Chile sobre la base de los datos censales que se encuentran disponibles. El estudio realizado se ha preguntado sobre cuáles serían las características socio-demográficas de los pentecostales y los factores limitantes al crecimiento histórico, durante un siglo, de los pentecostales chilenos, ofreciendo hipótesis sobre la relación de pentecostalismo y sectores socialmente desfavorecidos, personas con menor escolaridad y nivel de calificación para el trabajo, comunas de menor Índice de Desarrollo Humano, IDH, de mayor ruralidad, de tamaño poblacional mediano y grande, pero con bajo IDH, con mayor porcentaje de población perteneciente a los pueblos originarios del país; así como también los evangélicos se caracterizan por acoger un mayor porcentaje de discapacitados de todo orden, y sus miembros mayores de 15 años presentan déficits considerables de educación superior.

This report takes stock of growth of evangelicals in Chile on the basis of census data that are available. The study was wondering about which would be the socio-demographic characteristics of Pentecostals and historical factors limiting the growth for a century, the Chilean Pentecostals, offering hypotheses about the relationship between Pentecostalism and socially disadvantaged groups, people with less education and level of qualifications for the job, smaller communes Human Development Index, HDI, more rural, medium and large population size, but with low HDI, with the highest percentage of population belonging to the native peoples of the country as well as Evangelicals are characterized by receiving a higher percentage of disabled people of all kinds, and its members over age 15 have significant deficits in higher education.
