  • Resumen
    • The article entitled «The competence of the laity in conjugal ethics. A breach that opens up...» attempts to be a reflection on the responsibility of married lay men and women in marriage matters. The primitive Church recognized the capacity of the laity for an active participation in the ecclesial community; this possibility of active participation disappeared for diverse reasons...

Vatican II opened again the doors to this participation, setting up this competence on three pillars: the 'sensus fidelium', the experience and the right to intervene in the things that concern the laity. So that the married lay person can exercise his or her competence in marriage matters it is necessary for him or her to be duly trained in very specific aspects, such as: the awareness of being a couple, the interiorization of the moral rule and in the use of the epiqueya.
