Resumen de La polisemia de "sfigmos" en el Corpus Hippocraticum (I)

El objetivo de este estudio es el significado del término sfugmov" en el Corpus Hippocraticum; en este artículo, primera parte del estudio, el autor analiza tres tratados hipocráticos en los que ha registrado los términos sfugmov" y palmov"; concluye que ambos designan latidos irregulares (palpitaciones), propias de un enfermo; llama la atención el hecho de que en ninguno de los pasajes analizados aparezca mencionado el pulso normal, propio de un hombre sano.

The aim of this work is to study the meaning of the term sfugmov" in the Corpus Hyppocraticum. In this paper, which concerns the first part of the investigation, three Hippocratic treatises including the terms sfugmov" and palmov" have been analyzed. The author concludes that both words are related to irregular heart beats (palpitations), characteristic of a patient. However, it should be noted that in the passages analyzed no mention is made of normal heart beats, typical of a healthy person.
