El presente trabajo es una aportación más al estudio sobre las relaciones entre el cine y el mundo antiguo. En esta oportunidad, abordamos el papel que la infancia desempeña en el género del peplum; la gran cantidad de ejemplos aportados, así como su exhaustivo análisis, nos permiten afirmar que el cine ha subrayado la supuesta decadencia del mundo antiguo, valiéndose para ello de diferentes recursos, uno de los cuales es la utilización de la infancia de un modo nada gratuito.

The present work is one more contribution to the study of the relations between the movies and the Ancient World. In this opportunity we deal with the role played by childhood in the peplum; the great quantity of examples contributed, as well as its exhaustive analysis allow us to affirm that the movies have underlined the supposed decadence of the Ancient World, making use of different resources with this objective, among them the utilization of childhood in a way by no means arbitrary.
