Seventeen experimental plots, under different treatments were monitored from 1989 until 1994 in Southeastem Spain, !o know their erosion rates and hydrological responses. Controlling for rainfall events variability, variabitity of response among plots is proofed. This variabitity among plots can be explained on the basis of treatment only partially. An important effect of individual variability emerges from !he analysis. Sediment production is more assocíated !o rainfall event parameters !han runoff coefficient do. Taking into account three event parameters, the best associated !o runoff coefficient and sediment production is mean rainfall intensity. Total rainfall is !he worst associated. Maximum intensity in 60 minutes is intermediate in runoff coefficent bu! no! different to mean intensity in sediment production. Vegetation cover reduction of runoff coefficient it is proofed, bu! no effects on sediment production are detected.
