  • The present work tries to synthesize the epistemological aspects of the discussions that were made at the Commission of Social Research (ALAS 1999) from the perspective of a participant observer. To achieve this objective, I proceed in the following way: a) I describe the thematic approach in the papers, b) I synthesize the central arguments so that they can be considered as meta-theoretical articulations of the mentioned discussions and, c) I create an agenda for the potential connections between epistemology and the social research, that emerge of the context of the mentioned meta-theoretical articulations.
