Resumen de Los tronos de Bia en los Textos de las Pirámides y las estatuas de Jafra

  En este artículo se analiza el trono de bia (hndw-bj3, hndw bj3j) en los Textos de las Pirámides y sus posibles paralelos escultóricos regios durante el Reino Antiguo. En primer lugar, se estudian los significados y funciones de ese tipo de trono, lIegando a la conclusión de que está relacionado con la resurrección del rey y su ascensión al firmamento, donde se convierte en soberano entre diferentes asterismos. La misma conclusión se deriva, igualmente, del análisis de la localización de los encantamientos que mencionan dichos tronos dentro de la pirámide de Pepy I. En segundo lugar, se realiza un análisis iconográfico e iconológico de los tronos de leones de las estatuas halladas en el templo bajo de Jafra. De dicho estudio se puede saber que se encuentran en estrecha relación con la (re)generación del rey como individuo y como soberano, y que dichos leones representan una diosa, posiblemente Bastet. Finalmente, se identifican los tronos de bia en los Textos de las Pirámides y los tronos de leones de Jafra a partir de sus similitudes morfológicas y simbólicas. Una importante conexión entre ambos es el posible uso del gneis anortosítico como sustituto de bia, el hierro meteórico del que se dice que están hechos los tronos.

  In this paper, the bia-throne (hndw-bj3, hndw bj3j) in the Pyramid Texts and its possible royal sculptural parallels in the Old Kingdom are discussed. First, the meanings and functions of that kind of throne are studied, concluding that they are related to the king's resurrection and his ascension in the firmament, where he becomes ruler among several asterisms. The same conclusion can be inferred, also, from the analysis of the location of the spells naming those thrones inside the pyramid of Pepy I. Second, an iconographic and iconologic analysis of the lion thrones of the statues found at Khafre's lower temple is made. From that study, it can be inferred that they are very related to the (re)generation of the king as a person and as a ruler, and that the lions represent a goddess, probably Bastet. Finally, identification between the bia-thrones in the Pyramid Texts and the lion-thrones of Khafre is made, from their common morphologic and symbolical similarities. An important link between them is the possible use of the anorthosite gneiss as a substitute for bia, the meteoric iron of which the thrones are said to be made.
