    El sitio de Tell Mahuz, en la provincia iraquí de al-Ta'amin es un gran yacimiento habitado entre el IV milenio y el Periodo Islámico Temprano. Comenzado a excavar en 1997 por una misión conjunta hispano-iraquí, en el curso de una de las últimas campañas, el Corte Estratigráfico NW permitió conseguir interesantes observaciones sobre la naturaleza e historia real del anillo fortificado que corona la cima del tell. En este estudio se valoran dichas observaciones y se extraen las consecuencias pertinentes sobre la estratigrafía del sitio y sus problemas.

    The Tell Mahuz site, in the Iraqi al-Ta'amin Governorate, is a big archaeological site occupied between the IV millennium and the Early Islamic Period. In 1997, an Iraqi and Spanish joint expedition began the Project. In the last seasons, the big Stratigraphical Sounding NW provided a very interesting information about the character and the real history of the fortification founded on the tell border. This paper appraise the observations and conclude around the stratigraphy of the site and his problems
