ETEMENANKI: NUOVA IPOTESI DI RICOSTRUZIONE DELLO ZIGGURAT DI NABUCODONOSOR II NELLA CITTÁ DI BABILONIA

    In quest' articolo si presenta una nuova ipotesi di ricostruzione di Etemenanki, uno ziggurat costruito da Nabucodonosor II nella cittá di Babilonia, conosciuto attraverso la tradizione bibblica come la Torre di Babele. L'innovazione piú importante della nuova ipotesi, qui riportata, riguarda: la diminuzione dell' altezza dell' edificio (66 m rispetto ai 90 m anteriormente proposti), la conformazione di nuovi accessi e la distribuzione della pianta del tempio sommitale dello ziggurat

    In this paper, we propose a new hypothesis of reconstruction of the Etemenanki, a ziggurat built by Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylone, better known through the Biblical tradition as the Babel Tower. This hypothesis has as main contributions: a lesser height of the building (66 m instead of the usual 90 m), new accesses and the layout of the temple on the top
