En este artículo analizamos las pinturas de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, Santo Tomás de Aquino y San Pedro de Verona del Convento de Santo Tomás de Ávila y su iconografía en relación con el contexto histórico original. La interpretación de las imágenes revela algunos aspectos de la persona que, hipotéticamente, encargó las pinturas y que diseñó el mensaje, el inquisidor Torquemada, así como sus objetivos.
In this study, we analyze the paintings of the Saint Domingo of Guzmán, Saint Thomas of Aquino and Saint Peter of Verona of the monastery of Saint Thomas in Ávila and their iconography in relation to the original historical context.
The interpretation of the images shows some aspects about the person who commissions the paintings and who designed the message, the inquisitor Torquemada, as well as his aim.
