Articulando diferentes enfoques teóricos na terapia familiar

    It�s not easy trying to define and name briefly the theoretical approach of Family Therapy. The identity of Family Therapy can be recognized through the dynamics of the diversity that constitutes it. Our proposal aims to emphasize the differences in the history of Family Therapy and consider a systematic articulation of the theoretic and practical approaches. In a research that had family therapists from Rio de Janeiro as subjects, we were able to confirm both the predominance of the systemic theory initially, as well as the differences in the course of their careers. We present some reports on professional experiences that point to the main characteristics. We concluded by emphasizing the debate on the articulation between different theories and therapeutical practices and the historical importance of Brazil and Latin America.

    Não é fácil tentar definir e nomear brevemente as abordagens teóricas da Terapia de Família. A identidade da Terapia de Família pode ser conhecida pela dinâmica desta diversidade que a constitui. Nossa proposta busca ressaltar as diferenças na história da Terapia de Família e considerar uma articulação sistemática dos enfoques teórico-práticos. Realizamos uma pesquisa, no Rio de Janeiro, confirmando a inicial predominância da teoria sistêmica e a diversidade na trajetória dos terapeutas de família cariocas. Apresentamos alguns relatos de trajetórias profissionais, indicando as principais características.

    Concluímos destacando a discussão sobre o tema da articulação entre diferentes referenciais teórico-práticos e da relevância histórica do Brasil e da América Latina.
