El siglo XVIII va a resultar crucial para el molino de viento en Cartagena. Se analizan los importantes cambios sufridos en la ciudad durante esta centuria y que tienen uno de sus máximos exponentes en el incremento demográfico y la incidencia en el desarrollo agrícola y su técnica.
Se incrementa el cultivo del cereal y sus necesidades de transformación, favoreciendo el que, las instalaciones molineras disfruten de una de las coyunturas más favorables para su difusión por todo el territorio. Se identifican los primeros molinos y se estudian los problemas derivados de su explotación y la tipología, que difiere de la actual.

The eighteenth century is going to be crucial to the windmill in Cartagena. It discusses the significant changes in the city during this century and having one of its greatest exponents in population growth and the impact on agricultural development and technique. Increasing the cultivation of cereals and their processing by supporting the windmills facilities enjoying one of the most prosperous situations for dissemination throughout the country. It is identified the first mills and discusses the problems arising from their use and typology, wich differs from the current one.
