  • Inside a research program that has as objective the study of the processes of transformation of the urban-rural pampean spaces , we are developing a project that it is centralized in the conformation of local society in Olavarría, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In this projet we try to interpret this process in the time, keeping in mind the transformations that are taking place in the space starting from the action developed by the different social, institutional and singular agents; as well as in the structural aspects of which are part, but that at the same time, they produce them and they reproduce. In this work we center ourselves in two towns located in the denominated mountain area of Olavarría that is characterized to possess the best lands in the area and at the same time for their important reservations of calcareous stone. This fact returns particularly interesting the analysis from the perspective outlined previously, of the processes that conformed the communities there located, of which we only consider two in this occasion, Sierras Bayas and Colonia San Miguel. We have gone marking certain critical moments in the development of both, in which the relationships between the action of the agents and the social structure as well as their relationship with the " space-nature " are manifested with more emphasis, embracing from their different origins, going by the consequences that it has the installation in the area of the first cement factory in the country of North American capital, arriving until the current transformations that suffer the local societies and that they can be considered consequences of the transnationalization of economic processes and their correlatos in the social, cultural and political field. In all those moments we also try to analyze, how the social actors of that process go acquiring an identity, wich are, at the same time, objects and subject of this process, and as they express it, among other things, in the transformation of the places in that they live.
