The argentinian urban world of the XX century was leaded by Buenos Aires as a "model of city": Buenos Aires controlled the economic organisation of the pampas at the same time that was creating and spreading urbanity standards, space relationships and ideal paradigms of urban society. This paper synthesizes a study of cultural problems in an intermediate city of the Argentine pampas. It describes and analyses sociocultural representations, symbols, values, foundational myths and urban traditions of Campana (Buenos Aires province).
