Resumen de Diseño-Sociedad-Naturaleza: hacia un desarrollo sostenible en Latinoamérica
During the past two decades the problem of environmental deterioration has been in the centre of many academic discussions. It could be said that such deterioration is closely related to the vision of the nature as something that only has an instrumental value, -as a mean through which human beings cann achieve their goals- and with the not recognition of its intrinsic value. It is clear that a solution to this problem could not be reduced exclusively to actions in the field of technology, it is also necessary to have a clear and critical understanding of the economical and political structures, as well as of the social processes and phenomena through which humans relates with their natural environment. An idea of sustainable (economic) development, must consider not only the natural, but also the human. It is indispensable then, a reflection on the motivators that lead societies to an exploitation of nature, not only to satisfy their needs, but also to satisfy their desires and aspirations.
