    In the following article, I will try to summarize the interventions that were made in many pieces of the Permanent Collection of Sacred Art, which was recently opened in the Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla. We speak about intervention and not about restoration because the pieces had to be exhibited in a very short time. This fact impeded a more thorough work which without doubt will be done later on in the works that need it.

    This intervention has been carried out in a total of twenty seven pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries, which were transferred by Brotherhoods and private people.

    The works have been re-established without making artistic or historical falsifications. For this reason, it is necessary to explain carefully the how and why of the operations that were carried out. For its study, we will divide the pieces in three groups according to the typology of the materials.

    En el siguiente artículo trataré de resumir las intervenciones realizadas en numerosas piezas de la Colección Permanente de Arte Sacro, recientemente inaugurada en la Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla. En efecto, se habla de intervención y no de restauración ya que el gran número de piezas que debían ser expuestas en un intervalo de tiempo escaso, impedían un trabajo más minucioso y que sin duda será realizado con posterioridad en las obras que lo precisen.

    Dicha intervención se ha realizado en un total de veintisiete piezas cedidas por cofradías y particulares de obras de los siglos XIX y XX.

    Se ha buscado restablecer la unidad de las obras sin cometer falseamientos artísticos ni históricos. Es necesario por éste motivo explicar cuidadosamente el cómo y el porqué de las operaciones que se han realizado por lo que para su estudio dividiremos las piezas en tres grupos atendiendo a la tipología de los materiales:

    - Intervenciones sobre madera policromada.

    - Tratamientos en piezas de metal.

    - Otros materiales.
