El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar uno de los dispositivos que conforman una red (LAN) como lo es el Hub o Concentrador, con el fin de conocer más sobre este dispositivo. El estudio esta basado en las características, utilidad, ventajas y requerimientos de este dispositivo La investigación aborda una serie de artículos, libros, revistas y páginas de Internet relacionadas con las redes y los dispositivos que la conforman. Durante el proceso de búsqueda de información del Hub se encontró que es uno de los dispositivo de interconexión más sencillo pero de gran utilidad ya que permite aislar a un usuario si este presenta problemas y así no afectar a los demás, de igual manera se determinó que básicamente es un repetidor de señal que difunde la misma a todos los dispositivos conectados a él y que comparten un mismo ancho de banda.

The objective of this work was to study one of the devices that conform a network (LAN) as it is it the Hub, with the purpose of knowing more on this device. The study is based on the characteristics, utility, advantages and requirements of this device the investigation approaches a series of articles, books, magazines and pages of Internet related to the networks and the devices that conform it. During the process search of information of the Hub one was that he is one of the simpler device of interconnection but very useful since allows to isolate a user if this it thus presents/displays problems and not to affect the others, once determined that basically it is a signal repeater that spreads the same one to all the connected devices and that they share the same bandwidth.
