Roque González y su papel en el diseño y fundación de las ciudades guaraníes

    Para evocar la figura y la obra de Roque González, fundador de diez ciudades de la república guaranítica - entre ellas las actuales capitales Posadas y Encarnación- se propone un análisis de las misiones como nuevas polis americanas, y sus fuentes doctrinarias: el humanismo franciscano, la utopía americana y la Escuela de Salamanca, que se agregan a la experiencia ya adquirida en el campo misional por la compañía de Jesús de América y Asia. También se señalan las condiciones específicas que permitieron el desarrollo de la república guaraní, tales como el apoyo sin fisuras del poder civil y del sistema judicial

    In order to evoke Roque González, the man and his work; the founder ort ten the towns within the Guaraní Republic - among which are the present - day capital towns of Posadas and Encarnación - an analysis is proposed of the new Ameircan polis, and their origins in doctrinal soureces: Franciscan Humanism, the American Utopia and the School of Salamanca, added to the experience which had already been acquires in the field of mission work by the Company fo Jesus in America and Asia. There is also an overview of the specific conditions which allowed the develompent of the Guaraní Republic, such as the unstinting support of the Civil Power and the Judicial System
