    Se estudian las relaciones entre política y religión a través del análisis de las diversas posiciones de la izquierda italiana ante el catolicismo político, que constituye una forma de articulación social de sectores religiosos. El periodo histórico escogido transcurre entre la creación del Partido Socialista Italiano (1892) y el final del fascismo (1945), aunque se dedica algún espacio a años anteriores y posteriores a este periodo para una mayor contextualización del tema

    The Italian Left and the Political Catholicism. This article raises the matter of the relationship between politics and religion through the analysis of the various positions within the ranks of the Italian left, for it constituted a mixture of religious sectors. The chosen period covers since the foundation of the ltalian Socialist Party (1892) up ,the end of the Fascist Regime (1945), although some references-could be make to previous or later stages in the development of that relationship.
