El primer radio es una unidad funcional cuya importancia radica en el papel que desarrolla en las fases de la marcha deapoyo completo y propulsión, formando un arco longitudinal interno capaz de adaptarse a las irregularidades del terrenoasí como ser un segmento rígido para empujar el peso del cuerpo hacia delante. La deformidad en flexión plantar deeste segmento alterará la función del pie cursando con diversa sintomatología. Conocer la biomecánica del primer radioasí como su patomecánica en flexión plantar, sintomatología asociada, medios de diagnóstico y tratamiento serán el objeto del presente trabajo

The first ray is a functional unit which importance lies in the role it plays in the stance and propulsion gait stages, creatingan internal longitudinal arch capable of adapting to the ground irregularities as well as being a rigid segment for pushingthe body weight forward. The deformity in the plantar flexion of this segment will alter the foot’s function along with va-ried symptomotology. Knowing the first ray ́s biomechanics as well as it’s pathomechanics in plantar flexion position,with it’s associated symptomotology, diagnose resources and treatment will be the object of the present study
