    La pregunta ¿Qué es Pinochet? pretende interrogar la historia política reciente de Chile. Más no tanto en su dimensión historiográfica, sino desde una lectura filosófico-política. Hipótesis central del ensayo es que Pinochet es la relación política originaria de la República de Chile y, por ello, su verdad más esencial. Asimismo, el texto surge como una doble interpelación: por un lado a las declaraciones de F. Javier Cuadra dadas a la salida del funeral del dictador en la Escuela Militar y, por otro, a la Concertación de partidos por la democracia que, precisamente, a la luz de su rechazo a rendirle funerales de Estado, parecen profundizarlo en su seno. Parece que nadie está fuera de Pinochet (sea afirmándolo o negándolo). Esta doble interpelación obedece, en último término, a la doble naturaleza del poder moderno que da luz y opera en la República de Chile.

    The question “What is Pinochet” wants to interrogate the recent political history of Chile. But not in an historiographical way, but in a political-philosophical one. The central hypothesis of this essay is that Pinochet is the original political relation of the chilean Republic, and for that, its more esential truth. In that way, the text appears as a double interpelation: in one hand against de F. Javier Cuadra words in the ouside of the militar school at the funeral of the dictatorship and, in the other, to the democratic goverment that, precisely because of their reject to make a state funeral, they shows that Pinochet is in their inside. It seems nobody is out from Pinochet (the ones who affirm him and the ones who negate him). This double interpellation is cause at last, because of the double nature of modern power that creates and works in the chilean Republic.
