    Los acontecimientos bélicos que involucraron Italia entre el fin del siglo XIX y la Primera Guerra Mundial reforzaron el patriotismo de los italianos inmigrados en Argentina. La guerra promovió su unidad y robusteció su identidad étnica, sin perjuicio por la lealtad que ellos debían a Argentina. No ocurrió lo mismo en los años Treinta y en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El patriotismo no pudo esconder las diferencias políticas entre italianos fascistas y antifascistas y fue un factor de potencial conflicto con el naciente nacionalismo de la sociedad anfitriona.

    Italy's partecipation in colonial wars at the beginning of the 20th century and in the First World War fueled the Italian immigrant's patriotism in Argentina. The war joined together the immigrants and strenghtened their ethnic identity. Same condition was not possible during the Thirties and during the Second World War. Patriotism couldn't provide the unity of fascist and antifascist immigrants and was feared by the Argentinian society as a divisive phenomenon.
