Se pretende el análisis historiográfico de un manual escolar de Historia de Venezuela (1981) para el 1er año de la educación media, diversificada y profesional. Se examinará el texto, su relación con el programa oficial, todavía vigente; con los objetivos planteados por el Ministerio de Educación para la enseñanza de la historia, en 1979 (sobre los cuales se desarrolló el manual); y el predominio de algunas tendencias historiográficas (Annales y marxismo) en cada uno de estos documentos. Es una mirada inicial al texto y al contexto.

This article aims at analyzing historiographically a textbook of History of Venezuela (1981) for the 1st year of secondary education, senior and professional. It will examine the text, its relationship with the official program, still in force, with the goals set by the Ministry of Education for the teaching of history in 1979 (on which the handbook was developed) and the dominance of certain historiographical trends (Annals and Marxism) in each of these documents. It is an initial look at the text and context.
