Resumen de La enseñanza de la geografía y la educación ambiental desde la perspectiva de los docentes

Ante el exigente reto de promover la educación ambiental, la enseñanza de la geografía deberá considerar nuevos conocimientos para reorientar su práctica escolar. Eso justificó revelar los criterios de los educadores, quienes en su actividad cotidiana vivencían las dificultades ambientales y geográficas, y elaboran concepciones que pueden ayudar a gestionar el cambio educativo. Al respecto, se aplicó la técnica de la entrevista a diez docentes, y se determinó que ellos aprecian la complejidad de la situación ambiental, perciben una realidad geográfica complicada y solicitan una enseñanza geográfica que ayude a preservar las condiciones ambientales.

Facing the demanding challenge of promoting environmental education, the teaching of geography must consider new knowledge to redirect their school practice. That matter justified the revealing of the criteria for educators, who in their daily activity experience environmental and geographical difficulties, and develop ideas that can help manage change in education. In this regard, the technique of the interview was applied to ten teachers, and it was found that they appreciate the complexity of the environmental situation, perceive a complex geographical reality, and ask for an education on geography to help preserve the environment.
