Resumen de Sinon in Roman drama

Giampiero Scafoglio

  • This article investigates the probable sources of the version of the Sinon myth found in Plautus Bacchides 938, where Sinon hides in busto Achilli. The Vatican Epitome of Pseudo-Apollodorus knows this version of the story, but Plautus seems to have followed a different source. He borrowed the motif not from a Greek play or poem, but from Roman tragedy, probably the Equos Troianus of Naevius, who in turn got it from a post-classical Greek drama.
