Resulta innegable el protagonismo que adquieren las murallas en el urbanismo medieval. En esta ocasión, queremos profundizar en determinados aspectos relacionados con el recinto amurallado de la ciudad de Teruel tales como el sistema de trabajo empleado, los materiales y las herramientas utilizados o su financiación. Además, fijaremos nuestra atención en dos asuntos puntuales:
la aparición de importantes restos relacionados con el primitivo sistema defensivo de Teruel y la constatación documental que certifica la cronología medieval del Portal de San Miguel. Todo ello con un objetivo: contribuir a la puesta en valor definitiva de los importantes restos de la muralla turolense que, por fin, se están restaurando.

The prominence that city walls attained in medieval town planning is undeniable. This time, we want to go into certain aspects related to the city wall round the grounds of the city of Teruel in depth, such as the working system and the materials and tools which were used or its financing. Moreover, we will focus our attention on two precise watters:
the appearance of important remains related to the primitive defensive system of Teruel and the documentary verification to certify the medieval cronology of the gate of San Miguel. All this one objective: contributing to give the remains of the wall of Teruel, which are being restored at last, their true value definitively.
