  • One of the ways to approach the konwledge of artistic life in Seville is the Press from those times. In this paper we want to analyse Menipo´s experience as an art critic in the Sevillian newspapers. "El Liberal" and "El noticiero Sevillano", from 1921 to 1928. These are his trainee years when he writes reviews of the Spring and Autumn Ateneo Cultural Centre. Exhibition as well as interviews made to painters like Grosso, Santiago Martínez and so on.,At the same time he attends social gatherings where the last avant-garde artistic trends are commented. Menipo offers us one of the few documents we have about the super-realistic dinner held-under the organization of "Mediodia" journal in our city in 1928.
