En estas páginas intentamos trazar unas líneas de reflexión sobre la esencia de la función docente. En estos momentos de cambios y reformas educativas, de nuevos retos, necesitamos profundizar en el papel que el docente tiene que tener en el proceso educativo y sobre qué pilares tendrá que apoyarse su formación para ayudarle no solo a alcanzar aquellos conocimientos instrumentales que le serán indispensables, sino también a formar su personalidad, a darle contenido a su vocación ,sin la que su profesionalidad carecería de sentido.

Through these pages we try to show some reflection lines about the essence of the teaching training. Taking into account the present educative changes and reforms, and all new challenges it means, we need to go more deeply into the teachers' roll with in the educative processand the values that will need in their education to help them not only to reach the basic technical knowledges they will need but also to educate thir personality and to give contets to their vocation, since without vocation their professionalism is senseless.
