    El objetivo del presente estudio es describir el tratamiento periodístico que da el diario La Nación de San Cristóbal a la información fronteriza y especialmente al hecho económico en su página titulada Frontera, tomando en cuenta que este diario trabaja con el primer nivel de la información económica. Se concluye que a pesar de existir el espacio para la información económica, se desaprovecha el uso de recursos periodísticos necesarios para resaltar la importancia que el sector económico tiene para la zona fronteriza Táchira-Norte de Santander y para apoyar el proceso de integración que se da entre Venezuela y Colombia.

    The objective of the present study is to show the journalistic treatment that "La Nación" (local newspaper - of San Cristóbal) gives to the border information and especially to the economic fact in its page titled "Frontera", taking into account that this newspaper works with the first level of economic information. One concludes that even though there is room for economic information, it failed to take advantage of the use of the journalistic resources necessary to emphasize the importance that the economic sector has for the border zone "Tachira-Norte de Santander" and to support the process of integration that occurs between Venezuela and Colombia.
