Ideas contradictorias de Peter Misch sobre la estructura de los Pirineos: Notas de campo (1930-32) vs. publicación (1934)

    Peter Misch defendió su tesis de doctorado sobre la estructura de la vertiente meridional de los Pirineos centrales, entre los rios Pallaresa y Ésera, dirigida por Hans Stille en 1932, que sería publicada en 1934. En su publicación Misch aboga por una interpretación autoctonista, con vergencia bilateral de los macizos de la zona de los Nogueras, mientras que en los cuadernos de campo, después de ciertas dudas, había concluido de manera convencida con una interpretación aloctonista de vergencia meridional, con un corte interpretativo claro. En este trabajo se describe el contexto en el que realizó la investigación Misch, se analizan sus notas de campo referentes a la zona de los Nogueras (1930- 32), zona clave para la interpretación estructural, datos e interpretaciones, y se comparan con los publicados por el mismo autor (1934) y con la interpretación de la zona de los Nogueras de Seguret (1972), que presenta una gran semejanza con las ideas que Misch guardó en sus cuadernos de campo. La razón por la que Misch no publicó estas ideas es una cuestión abierta.

    Peter Misch defended his Ph.D. Thesis on the structure of the southern Central Pyrenees between the Pallaresa and the Ésera in 1932. This work was supervised by Hans Stille and published in 1934. In his paper, Misch supports an autochthonist interpretation including both north and south vergent structures for the Nogueres Zone massifs, whereas his field notes, after some doubts, reflect a south directed allochthonist interpretation for the same units, illustrated with an expressive crosssection. The present paper describes the context, in which Misch carried out his research, and analyzes his field notes (data and interpretations) concerning the Nogueres Zone, a key area for the structural interpretation of the Pyrenees. These are compared with the published work by the same author (1934) and with the interpretation of the Nogueres Zone by Seguret (1972), which is essentially the same that the one on Peter Misch field books. The reason why Misch did not published his views recorded in the field books is an open question.
