El articulo pretende dar una serie de referencias bibliográficas en las que primero se analizan las tendencias de demanda y el uso de combustibles fósiles o renovables para tratar de conciliar, en el largo plazo, un sistema energético más seguro y con unas emisiones de carbono reducidas. Se promueven formulas de eficiencia energética, tanto en producción como en el consumo industrial, residencial y del transporte. En segundo lugar, se analizan los riesgos y beneficios de la energía nuclear y su estado tecnológico, como una opción interesante y alternativa para la lucha contra el cambio climático, la diversificación y la seguridad energética

This article tries to provide the reader with some references that, firstly analyzes the trends of demand and use of fossil or renewable fuels, in order to conciliate in the long term, a more secure energy system with reduced carbon emissions. Best practices of energy efficiency are also identified for power generation, as well as for industrial, residential and transport consumption.
Secondly, the suggested literature analyzes the risks and benefits of nuclear energy on the current technological state, as an interesting alternative to face current challenges as the mitigation of climate change, the energy diversification and the energy security.
